Reconnection Stories
This assignment was an exploration into storytelling for change, designed to highlight my positionality within the natural environment. Reflecting on my experiences and values I was able to create a short video explaining how and why I connect to myself, my community and the natural environment.
My connection with nature comes through being at peace with nature, sitting outside, being along with the smells, sound sight of nature.
My community connection with nature comes from tramping with friends, camping with my family, gardening with friends and sharing an appreciation with nature. Hearing the sounds of tuis when I visit my parents, planting trees with my grandparents, picking flowers with my aunt all connect me.
My connection with the natural realm comes from walking in the sun, taking in the sounds of the bush, or the sea hitting the shore.
